Gold Beach Oregon Vacations

We call this the Oregon gold coast!

Why?  Because this is the 100 mile section of the Oregon coast with sunshine almost all summer long!

We have the golden sunshine, we have flecks of gold in the black sand washed down form the mines up river, and we are Gold Beach Oregon

Our Weather

You may have heard about the rain on the Oregon coast?   Well, even in Gold Beach on the gold coast it does rain a lot in the winter months.  We welcome the rain and the storms to keep us green!

But in the spring, the summer months, and the fall we have very little rain, little fog, we have sunsine!  This is a well kept secret of our little window on the sunshine, but our part of the coast is known as the banana belt, due to our mild temperatures all year round, and out abundance of sunshine in the extended summer! 

Summertime:  expect high 70's with lots of sunshine that will make it feel a lot warmer than the thermometor reports!   Evenings may drop down to the very low 60's, so a sweater will be handy. 

Spring and Fall:  expect mid to high 60's, again with strong sunshine that will make it feel at least 10 degrees warmer during the day.  Some rain and a very occassional storm may blow through, and evenings will drop down to the high 50's.

Winter months will finally see some fog and rain, and a good and wonderful storm (storm watchers come on down!) about once a week or two!  The temperature is still mild, usually in the mid to high 50's during the day, feeling much warmer when the sun is out, and dropping to the mid to low 50's at night.  Finally your rain gear will come in handy!

How to Pack
When you pack for your tirp to our coast in the summertime, you better plan to bring a sweater!  Our temperatures are generaly very mild, but we have that occassional cool wind and evenings can be a little on the cool side too!   Otherwise pack as you usually do for summer. 

In the early spring, late fall, and winter you will need to pack some warm clothing for those cool nights, and some rain gear for the storms.  Othewise pack with layers in mind.
